During Sunday School we talked about how things transform and change. We experimented with cornstarch gloop:
During a bonfire night themed Sunday School the children made 'bonfire' cupcakes (see photo) and 'sparklers'.
'Shining in the Darkness' At Halloween the children made pumpkin prayers. The young people also talked about darkness and light and the things they could do to shine like a light "The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear?" Psalm 27:1
All children and young people of any age are welcome.
For the younger children every Sunday there is a group that takes place throughout the church service consisting of fun activities, crafts, singing and games.
The older children also meet every Sunday where they do a range of activities such as discussions, games and sometimes special events. They also, participate in services and lead worship. We have an active Choir that participates in Sunday Worship and also performs in Concerts and at Special Occasions. All are welcome to join in what we lack in talent we make up for in enthusiasm.
The young people are involved in supporting many charities, such as, Action Aid, present aid through Christian Aid, Children in need, and raising money directly for the church and also for local people in Salford. Through the charity Action aid, the young people sponsor a child in Afghanistan called Nasima. All the money raised goes towards the village where she lives.
In addition there are many different uniformed organisations for all ages, these include, Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
We also have close relationships with other local churches.
There’s always something going on at church, something for everyone. Our church is a great place to meet new people and make new friends, why don’t you come along and see?
